Established June 1, 2009

June 9, 2018, the North Central Ohio KOPS Honor Society met at Berry’s Restaurant in Norwalk with eight members in attendance including three guests, Carolyn Haney and Phyllis Jirousek of OH # 2160, North Ridgeville and Margie Cochran who was visiting from Maine.
Two KOPS anniversaries were celebrated, Mary Roling of OH # 2172, Wellington with four years, and Karen Hull of OH # 1487, Port Clinton with 36 years as a KOPS. Each was presented with a yellow rose.
The program for the day was what strategy do you (as a KOPS) use to keep weight off during the summer with so many temptations like picnics, reunions and vacations? A lively discussion followed giving suggestions like eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, increase your exercise and if outdoor activity is used, do it early in the day. As far as attending eating events, eat a small healthy snack before you go, stay away from the food table and concentrate on visiting with other guests instead of on food, drink lots of water instead of sweet beverages. Water hydrates. At home, cook lighter foods possibly grilling or roasting them.
Kaptain, Karen Hull closed the meeting with a “Rededication Pledge” from the June/July 2018 edition of the TOPS News.
